What is 4FMV?
4FMV is an online services marketplace. Businesses use it to find contractors, consultants and freelancers in any industry and sector.
How does it work?
4FMV is classified as an ‘employment business’.
We provide businesses – Buyers – with access to information about contractors and consultants – Sellers – throughout the country, working in any industry and profession.
4FMV provides two service models: contract staffing (4FMV Hourly) and project bidding (4FMV Fixed-Price).
4FMV Hourly is based on skills – Buyers select the skills they are interested in, and can then quickly find Sellers who have those skills. Anyone using the site can view the brief description, skills and hourly rate of all the Sellers registered on the site. Contact details are only released with the Seller’s permission.
4FMV Fixed-Price is based on bidding – Companies can post opportunities, compare bids and bidders and select the most appropriate bid for their needs. Canadian contractors can search and bid on opportunities.
How does a Buyer find a Seller?
For a Buyer to get to the stage of agreeing a contract with a Seller, they must:
– be registered & logged in;
– have agreed to our Terms and Conditions;
– have set up an opportunity (Hourly or Fixed-Price).
They can either Invite Bids to the Fixed Price project or search for Sellers, create shortlists, obtain contact information and agree to the contract terms. What does it cost to register?
It costs nothing for Buyers and Sellers to register.
How does 4FMV make its money?
We charge an industry-beating management fee applied on top of the hourly rate or on top of the fixed-price bid set by the individual Seller. 4FMV provides invoicing, credit control, contracts, timesheets, marketing, development and customer services for this fee – as well as a guarantee to Sellers that they will be paid for contracts they gain through 4FMV, no matter when 4FMV is paid by the Buyer.
The Seller rates that Buyers see include our management fee, so there are no hidden costs or charges for our services.

This is because all the information displayed on the site is tailor-made for you as a Buyer or a Seller.

What is charity.4fmv.ca?
«charity.4fmv.ca» has exactly the same functionality as «4fmv.ca», but offers special, discounted Seller rates to registered charities. All Sellers on 4FMV have the option to offer charities a percentage reduction on their usual hourly rate.
