What is the management fee?
Hourly Contract – 12% margin
The 4FMV management fee is set at a margin of 12% and is included in the Sellers’ hourly rates that are published on the site.
This industry-beating margin is significantly lower than contracting and consulting agencies, and ensures that rates on all the 4FMV sites – including 4fmv.ca and all affiliate sites – stay very competitive.
The calculation
Our management fee is 12% of the hourly rate published on the site. The published rate is calculated by dividing the Seller’s hourly rate by 0.88 and adding payroll taxes. Payroll taxes are calculated on the Seller's hourly rate before the management fee is applied i.e. the management fee is not applied to payroll taxes.
For Incorporated Sellers payroll taxes consist of WSIB/CSST contributions. For Sole Proprietor Sellers payroll taxes include the employer portion of WSIB/CSST, CPP/QPP, EI and EHT.
Fixed-Price Contract - 15% margin
The 4FMV management fee is set at a margin of 15%, with a minimum fee of $75. The fee is included in the Sellers’ fixed-price bid that are published on the site.
The calculation
Our management fee is 15% of the rate published on the site with. The published rate is calculated by dividing the Seller’s rate by 0.85. If the amount is smaller than $75 then the charge is $75.
What we do for our fee
4FMV provides invoicing, credit control, contracts, timesheets, marketing, development and customer services for this fee.
We also provide a guarantee to Sellers that they will be paid for any contracts they gain through the 4FMV sites, no matter when we are paid by their Buyer(s).

Seller rates on 4FMV sites
All rates that you see on 4FMV websites include our management fee, so there are no hidden costs to Buyers.
